This is a list of useful list of items to check when looking for a new house.
- South Facing Garden
- Large Bathroom
- Laundry Room
- Wine Storage. Cool room
- Changing Room
- Tool Storage Space
- Small Appliance Storage. Where can you store vacuum cleaner and ironing board
- Tall Ceilings
- Gas Central Heating. How old is the boiler? Is it high efficiency?
- Wooden Floors. What condition are they in? Can they be sanded?
- Garden Shed
- Smooth Opening Kitchen Units. Open drawers and cupboards - determine if they need replacing
- Water Pressure. Try turning on the shower
- Check For Signs Of Damp
- Council Tax Band
- Approximate Monthly Bills. Could indicate any heating problems
- Original Features. Is the fireplace authentic? Victorian cornicing?
- Garden Shed
- Electrical Powerpoints. Is there adequate power for kitchen appliances and home theatre?
- Shaver Socket
- Flight Path. Visit at different times to check for airplane noise
- Friendly Neighbours. Try and talk to neighbours to find out about the area
- Local Shops. Can you easily get a punt of milk?
- Local Transportation
- Fridge Spacing. Will the kitchen easily accomodate a replacement fridge (eg does it have a standard space)
- Easy Moving Access. Can you easily move a couch in (eg any width restrictions or awkward corners)
